The GardenRoom Montessori Nursery School  is an innovative  educational  evironment for 2-6 year olds.

We are small , personal and  specialise in giving individual  attention  to each child’s needs.

A  Unique Experience For A Unique Child

Our little nursery school is a welcoming place for  children, where  children find their place.  Set in ½ an acre of private gardens, we keep our own hens,  study wildlife, grow our own food and cook it into beautiful meals; we try to be self suppporting and teach the children from seed to plate.  We dye,spin and weave fleece and fibre  to make our clothes. We learn  how our bodies work and how to look after ourselves. We spend our days outside  embracing  all types of weather.  We use real tools and instruments to enable us to do our work from spades and forks, spining wheels, sewing machines and weaving looms to mircoscopes, telescopes and cameras.

Our nursery school embrasses the concept that is it natural to think outside the box and be different.  At  the Garden Room Montessori Nursery School  we welcome the lively child, the quiet child, the creative child, the inquisitive child and the thinking child who  always ask the question’ WHY?  We welcome all children that are  unique  and through observations we discover their interests and individual needs.  We allow them time and space to use the Montessori materials and resources that  are scientifically  designed to spark children’s curiosity, to stimulate thinking and to build language skills.  Together we   discover, investigate and  explore the world we live in with projects on the Solar System, The Sun, Volcanoes, Dinosaurs, The Blue Planet, The Prehistoric Timeline, The Animal Kingdom and much, much more.  By studying all the  continents and their cultures we learn who we are and how we relate to the wider world.
